Capturing Your Day, Naturally and Beautifully

Photography has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. From a young age, I was rarely without a camera, drawn to the beauty of fleeting moments and the challenge of transforming them into lasting memories. Whether exploring new places or enjoying everyday life, I discovered joy in seeing the world through my lens.

My Journey to Professional Wedding Photography

My path to professional wedding photography began with my own wedding. Experiencing firsthand the power of photography to preserve emotion, atmosphere, and connection inspired me to turn my passion into a career. I completed a Level 5 Professional Diploma in Photography (EQF), equipping me with both the technical skill and creative insight to capture weddings beautifully.

In 2018, I founded Caroline Nixon Photography Ltd, photographing weddings and milestone moments across West Berkshire and throughout the UK. Every wedding is unique, and I approach each couple’s story with care, creativity, and respect for the special details that make their day one-of-a-kind.

Wedding Photography in Berkshire – Your Story, Your Moments

As a Berkshire wedding photographer, my focus is storytelling. I capture the unscripted moments—the joyful glances, quiet emotions, and heartfelt interactions—that truly reflect how your day felt. My goal is to create timeless, natural photographs that you’ll treasure for years to come.

Professional, Relaxed, and Fully Insured

I am fully insured, DBS-checked, and committed to providing a calm, professional experience from start to finish. My photography style is relaxed and natural, helping you feel at ease so you can enjoy your wedding day completely, confident that your memories are in safe hands. Over the years, I have been honoured to receive multiple awards for my photography, reflecting the care and passion I bring to every wedding.

Serving Berkshire and Beyond

Based in Berkshire, I photograph weddings across Reading, Newbury, Wokingham, Ascot, and surrounding counties, and I am happy to travel wherever your celebration takes place.

What I love most about being a wedding photographer is meeting amazing people and capturing their unique stories. Every couple, every connection, every celebration is a privilege, and I never take it for granted.

What to expect on your wedding day

On your wedding day, I usually arrive around an hour before the ceremony begins. This gives me time to capture the venue in all its untouched beauty—those quiet, thoughtful details—before your guests start to arrive and the day springs to life.

If you’d like, I can also photograph the getting-ready moments of both the bride and groom. These behind-the-scenes glimpses often become some of the most heartfelt and personal images from the day.

During the ceremony, I work discreetly to document every important moment: the groom waiting at the altar, guests arriving, the bride’s entrance, your vows, ring exchange, first kiss, and the signing of the register. Many couples also choose to have a confetti shot after the ceremony—it’s a joyful, high-energy moment that makes for truly vibrant photos.

After the ceremony and before the wedding breakfast, I’ll guide you through a relaxed session for family and group portraits. This is usually the best time to gather everyone while they’re together and looking their best.

Throughout the day—and into the evening—I focus on natural, candid storytelling. From the spontaneous laughter during speeches to the cutting of the cake and your first dance, I’ll be there to capture the spirit and emotion of each moment as it unfolds.

But I’m not just your photographer—I’m also part of your team. I’m there to support you, help keep things on track, and offer a calm presence. Whether it’s liaising with your coordinator, keeping an eye on timings, or helping with the little things (like fixing a buttonhole), I’m there to make your day run as smoothly as possible.

My approach is relaxed, fun, and unobtrusive. I avoid overly posed shots, instead letting the moments unfold naturally. Often, the images that mean the most are the ones you didn’t even realise were being taken—the genuine glances, quiet touches, and joyful chaos you’ll want to remember forever.

The Booking Process

When you first get in touch, I’ll send over a complimentary, no-obligation quote by email so you can review everything at your own pace.

If you choose to go ahead, I’ll provide a simple contract outlining all the terms and details—designed to give you complete clarity and peace of mind. Once the contract is signed, a small booking fee is required to secure your date.

You’ll then receive a confirmation email and a receipt for your deposit.

Two to three weeks before your wedding, I’ll get in touch to go over all the final details. We’ll chat through the timeline of your day, key moments you’d like captured, and any specific requests you may have. This is also when the remaining balance is due.

Caroline was a lovely photographer to have- she kept us relaxed and at ease, when for both of us having a photographer is nothing we ever experience. She guided us to ensure we got the best pics out of the day. We love our pictures and they really capture our happy day. Thank you Caroline!!!!!

Some of my favourite places to photograph weddings include the beautifully rustic Mill House Hotel, with its charming gardens and intimate setting, and the grand elegance of Warbrook House, which offers stunning backdrops both inside and out. I also love working at the Earl of Doncaster, with its unique Art Deco flair and bold interiors that bring a distinctive style to every shot. Ringwood Hall Hotel and Spa is another favourite, with its sweeping grounds and classic architecture—perfect for romantic portraits. Each of these venues has its own character, and it’s always a joy to capture love stories in such inspiring and photogenic locations.
