8 Years of Caroline Nixon Photography Ltd 🎉

I honestly can't quite believe I'm writing this, but Caroline Nixon Photography Ltd is 8 years old!

Eight years since I officially started my business and decided to turn something I've loved for most of my life into my career.

When I look back at where I started and where I am now, it’s pretty amazing to think about just how much has happened along the way.

I've photographed so many incredible weddings and special moments over the last eight years, from beautiful venues across Berkshire and West Berkshire to weddings further afield across the UK.

And while the business has grown and changed, one thing has stayed the same — I absolutely love what I do.

From a love of photography to a wedding photography business

Photography has been part of my life since I was young, but it was my own wedding that really made me realise just how much I wanted to photograph weddings professionally.

There is something about being trusted to capture such an important day that never gets old.

The nervous excitement before the ceremony. The moment someone sees their partner for the first time. Parents trying not to cry. Friends laughing until they can't breathe. The slightly chaotic dance floor later in the evening.

Those are the things I love photographing.

My approach to wedding photography in Berkshire has always been about capturing those genuine moments rather than making the whole day feel like a photoshoot.

I want my couples to actually enjoy their wedding day.

8 years, hundreds of memories and lots of happy couples

Over the years, I've had the chance to photograph weddings in so many different places and venues, including Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey, Hampshire and beyond.

Every wedding has been completely different, which is one of the things I love most about being a wedding photographer.

Some couples want lots of relaxed photographs with their friends and family. Others want barely any formal photographs at all. Some love being in front of the camera, while others would much rather forget I'm there!

That's completely fine with me.

There isn't one way to have your wedding photographed.

My style is natural, relaxed and heartfelt, with a mixture of the big moments, the little moments and everything in between. I'll give you a bit of direction when you need it, but I'm not going to spend your wedding day making you pose for hours.

And now... year eight!

Eight years in, I'm still doing something I genuinely love.

I'm still meeting new couples, discovering new wedding venues, photographing completely different celebrations and getting to know the people behind each wedding.

I'm also really proud of how Caroline Nixon Photography has grown.

From starting out in 2018 to building a business that now photographs weddings across Berkshire and beyond, it's been one hell of a journey.

There have definitely been stressful days, plenty of late nights and a lot of learning along the way — running a small business is certainly not all taking pretty photographs!

But I wouldn't change it.
